Vietnam’s sales sector has the highest demand for manpower of all segments of the country’s economy, according to a report by VietnamWorks.
The top five functions with the highest demand for online recruitment were the same this quarter as last quarter, with accounting/finance, administration, IT-software, and marketing following sales on the list.
However, the growth rate of the sales sector in the quarter was only 18 percent compared to the previous quarter, while administration increased 28 percent, the highest rate on the list, according to the Online Employment Indicator Report for the second quarter released by VietnamWorks.com, the largest online recruitment solution provider in the country.
Regarding online labor supply, the top five functions included accounting/finance, administrative/clerical, human resources, customer service and sales.
The online labor supply in accounting/finance and administrative/clerical increased 46 percent and 41 percent respectively, and the supply in human resources and sales increased 28 percent each in comparison to the first quarter.
Hanoi continued leading the online labor recruitment market in terms of demand, which was 10 percent higher in the capital than in Ho Chi Minh City. The southern city had narrowed the gap in online labor demand with Hanoi that stood at 14 percent in the first quarter.
The online job market in the second quarter increased 28 percent in terms of demand and 27 percent in terms of supply compared to last quarter. The demand for online labor recruitment increased 40 percent over the same period last year.
“The labor demand growth of 40 percent year-on-year was a good sign of an economic upturn. Employers now are more confident in hiring more people to expand their business”, said Chris Harvey, general director of VietnamWorks.com.
