Vietnamese students win five gold medals at Asian piano contest

Piano students from Vietnam National Music Acadamy grabbed five gold medals and one silver at the Asia International Piano Academy Festival and Competition held in South Korea last week.

The winners were among 46 competitors from six countries including South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Among the judges were Chang Hae Won, chairman of the South Korea Piano Association, Fumiko Eguchi, chairman of the Japan Piano Academy and member of the National Association of Japanese Piano Professors, and Vietnam piano expert Tran Thu Ha.

Early this month, two other students from the acadamy had won six awards at another international piano competition in Sydney.
