Tet attractions in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City is entering the final stretch in its preparations for Tet on February 3. If you are wondering where to go or what to do to partake in the country’s biggest festival, here is a list of events and places that will be abuzz come the Lunar New Year.
Catch the fireworks displays at seven spots around the city just after midnight on the Eve to welcome the Year of the Cat.
High-altitude fireworks will be set off at the Caric Shipbuilding Factory in District 2, administrative center project site in District 7, the vicinity of Nguyen Van Linh Street and Phu My bridge in District 7, Gieng Nuoc crossroads in Hoc Mon District, Tan Tuc resettlement in Binh Chanh District, and the Ben Duoc Memorial Temple in Cu Chi District.
The two other displays, at a slightly lower height, will be at the Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 and Suoi Tien Amusement Park in District 9.

Shining streets in downtown
You can stroll along splendidly lit downtown streets like Le Loi, Dong Khoi, Le Duan between January 26 and February 13.
Houses along those streets will also be decorated with colorful lights from January 31 to February 2 when a Tet event called “door shows” will be organized.

Nguyen Hue Flower Road
Nguyen Hue Street, also in the downtown area, will become flower-decked from January 31 through February 6.
Its main theme this year, “New Heights,” will have several sub-themes.
You can also catch several other performances and displays along the street – artistic flower arrangements, traditional music shows, folk games, and others.
The road will be closed to vehicles from Ben Thanh market through Le Loi Street up to the Municipal Theater.
So be sure to park your vehicles somewhere else before visiting the flower road.
Spring flower festivals

There will be two flower-themed events at Tao Dan Park and Turtle Lake between January 28 and February 8.
There will be floral arrangements, exhibitions of various flowers, music shows, folk and children’s games, calligraphy, and others.

Dam Sen Park
Dam Sen Cultural Park and Suoi Tien Amusement Park are two popular destinations for city residents during Tet.
Dam Sen has a multicolored flower garden, some extreme games like Super Swing and Samba Tower, and an ice house among other attractions.
There is also a folk tales theater, antique castle, Nam Tu royal garden, rock garden and water palace, and children's play area.
Suoi Tien has an artificial seawater pool, Tien Dong beach, which features a gigantic waterfall with the face of an emperor sculpted in it. It even has a zoo with many crocodiles and tortoises.
It has giant sculpted dragons painted in gorgeous blue and orange pastels, red Buddha statues, and lush green gardens besides all the usual theme park attractions like rides and slides.
