Coffee fest 2nd day: record filter, biggest flash mob
The appearance of the Vietnam record coffee filter has attracted hundreds of people in a music show last Friday titled "The way coffee talks" in the Dak Lak cultural center.
The filter, which is 5 meters high with a diameter of 2 meters, can produce enough coffee for 300 people from 200 kilos of powder.
The event also introduced various ways to enjoy coffee from different countries like Ethiopia, Indonesia, Spain, Brazil and Mexico.
Beautiful dances with colorful costumes and vibrant music heated up the stage.
Through performances, the audience could learn how coffee came to Vietnam and has become a part of the Vietnamese culture. Nowadays, coffee trees are the major contributor to the economy in the central highlands.
After the showcase of the record filter, coffee was served to the audience present.
Also at the show, another national record was broken: Most participants in a flash-mob performance. There were around 1,000 people in the group dance that helped Buon Ma Thuot set another record that night.
Previously in the afternoon, an exhibition was opened in The Daklak museum, featuring 100 photos and 139 items of the CADA plantation, one of the oldest coffee plantations in the central highlands.
The exhibition introduces coffee planting and harvesting procedures in Buon Ma Thuot as well as the cultural life of ethnic people in the central highlands through various festivals.
Another exhibition called Highlands Gong Music at the coffee fair comprising 107 documentary photos and five sets of gongs also attracted festival-goers.
