Stock market rallies, liquidity regains
The Vietnamese stock market Tuesday rallied after 2 previous dismal trading sessions with the benchmark VN-Index regaining 9.87 points (2.28 percent) to 443.68 points and HNX-Index edging up 2.49 points (3.38 percent) to 76.09 points.
On Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), total trading volume reached over 31 million shares worth VND623 billion, up 38 percent in volume and 50 percent in value from the previous trading session.
All other key stocks on the southern bourse, such as PVF, VNM, SSI, HAG and BVH, reached the ceiling prices, while VIC hit the floor price.
On Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), total market trade reached nearly 38 million shares valued at VND434 billion, rising 24 percent in volume and 25 percent in value day on day.
By the end of Tuesday’s trading session, there were 221 gainers, 42 losers and 26 others remaining unchanged on the southern bourse and the respective figures were 264, 60 and 21 on the northern bourse.
Foreign investors Tuesday continued their 8th and 3rd net-buying session in a row on HoSE and HNX with about 500,000 million shares worth about VND15 billion, and 46,500 share for about VND2 billion.
On the southern bourse, foreign investors bought over 3.68 million shares valued at over VND101 billion, up 69 percent in volume and 52.6 percent in value against the previous trading session. They sold over 3.2 million shares for over VND86 billion, up 129 percent in volume and 89 percent in value against Monday’s.
Their net-buying session focused on SSI with 360,550 shares, VCB with 309,100 shares, DPM with 181,410 shares, SBT with 145,040 shares, DPR with 133,400 shares, and CTG with 119,150 shares. They also concentrated on net-selling with 275,220 REE shares, 238,020 KBC shares, 151,150 PET shares, 100,150 PVT shares and 100,000 LCG shares.
On the northern bourse, they bought over 1.42 million shares worth over 31 billion, up 152 percent in volume and 357 percent in value against Monday’s. They sold 1.38 million shares for over VND29 billion, up 215 percent in volume and 450 percent in value against the previous session.
Their net-buying session Tuesday focused on PVX and VND with 130,500 shares and 105,000 shares respectively. They also concentrated on net-selling 282,200 KLS shares.
