International yacht festival opens in Mui Ne

An international yacht racing festival debuted yesterday in Mui Ne town in the central Binh Thuan Province.
The four-day “Boat, Sea, Sand and Sun” has attracted more than 20 teams from several European countries, Australia, the US, China, New Zealand, Argentina, Japan, and South Korea.
Its opening ceremony featured spectacular music shows by Massive, an Australian band, and Russian singer Natalia and professional performances by racers.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said the event will enable Binh Thuan and Vietnam as a whole to develop sea-related tourism.
Executives from 150 global boat manufacturers are expected to make an appearance.
The festival will also feature events promoting sailboat technologies, a laser show at the Park Diamond hotel, a music show on Mui Ne beach, and a seminar on maritime trade.
