Piano duo Lafitte twin to perform in Vietnam
French sisters Isabelle Lafitte and Florence Lafitte will perform piano duo at the Hanoi Opera House today (March 1) and the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh City on March 4 at 8pm.
They will perform works by Claude Debussy, Alexandre Glazouvov, Nicolaï Rimski-Korsakov, and Maurice Ravel. These are among 7,000 piano compositions that the twin have played at famous theaters in Asia and Europe over the last 30 years.
Lafitte sisters were born in Versailles (France) in 1961. Upon graduating from the National Superior Conservatory of Music in Lyons, they attended training at the Manhattan School of Music, New York (US) and at the Franz Liszt Academy, Budapest (Hungary).
Isabelle and Florence were finalists at the International Murray Dranoff Two Piano Competition (Honorary Award, Miami, 1989), and won first prize at the International Music Video Competition (Fuji TV Network, Tokyo, 1987).
