The Third International Circus Festival in Vietnam will be held in Hanoi this year from August 6 to 11 at the Nation Circus Theater.

The festival will feature a variety of performances including acrobatics, juggling and animal acts. Performers from over 14 countries, including Vietnam, will vie for eight titles.

The outstanding international revue will include an act entitled “Contortion” by Mongolian artists Nandin Tsetseg and Namuun Urantugs. The preadolescent duo started their training when they were eight. Their debut act was entitled ‘Double Tigers Crescent.’ In 2007, they took a Silver Medal at the Monte Carlo Young Circus Actors’ Festival and now work for Mongolian-based Con-art Center.

Ukraine’s up-and-coming hanging-rope acrobat, Ikachyk Roman, brings an act entitled “Outlaw” to the ring. His performance is directed by famed aerial choreographer Maria Remneva. Roman, who graduated from Kiev Stage College after studying a variety of circus arts, took an award at a competition this year in Dubai.

The 23 acts will be judged by an 11-member international jury board that includes two Vietnamese panelists.
