Gun-wielding robbers flee as victims use knives

After robbing a taxi, three masked robbers with a gun stormed into a gold shop at 3pm Tuesday in the southern province of Binh Duong only to be turned away when the shop staff fought back.
The three arrived at the Kim Phuong gold shop in Ben Cat district’s My Phuoc town on the stolen 56K-7061 Vinasun taxi.
According to shop owner Nguyen Van Hoang, two robbers wore black shirts and about 1.67m tall while the other in white was driving the taxi.
All wore masks and one was holding a gun.
Seeing the robbers, the shop staff ran out and shouted for help.
As there was a big commotion, the robbers got cold feet, ran back to the taxi and drove away without taking anything.
But the shop employees were not to be bullied. They wielded knives and ran after the taxi.
The would-be victims managed to make some deep cuts to the taxi’s rear before the robbers sped up and fled away.
Later the same day, the Vinasun taxi company confirmed that their 56K-7061 and its driver had been robbed earlier.
