Int’l kite fest to kick off in Vung Tau

Extravagant performances, exhibitions, and competitions involving kites will take place at the third International Kite Festival to be held in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau from April 7-11.
This year’s event themed “Convergence of Four Directions” is expected to attract participation of around 120 artisans from 25 countries and territories world-wide.
The highlight of the fest is kite art performances at night with a color lighting system.
Host Vietnam will send five teams from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue and Vung Tau for competition.
Last March, the coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau successfully organized the second International Kite Festival themed “Legend – Millennium”, featuring more than 300 kites of various kinds created by 69 artisans from 24 countries and territories.
