Vietnam to give money to corruption fighters
The Vietnamese government will award those who have fought corruption with money, the highest award being the Bravery Order, according to the Ministry of Interior.
Under a Joint Circular recently issued by the Ministry of Interior and the government’s Inspectorate, there will be four levels of rewards offered to corruption fighters, under Decree No. 42/2010 of the Government.
The greatest award is the Bravery Order, which will be granted by the State President to individuals who bravely denunciated embezzling cases worth at least VND500 million (US$24,120) each or bribery cases worth at least VND300 million ($14,470) each.
Individuals awarded with the Bravery Order will be presented a cash prize that is 30 times the common minimum wage, which currently is VND830,000 ($US40).
Ranking lower than the Bravery Order is the Certificate of Merit, which will be conferred by the Prime Minister. Winners of a certificate will be given a cash amount that is 20 times the minimum wage.
Meanwhile, an amount 10 times the minimum wage will be granted to winners of the Certificate of Merit from ministries or other central agencies.
The lowest level is the Certificate of Commendation and those who receive it will be given a sum that is three times the minimum wage rate.
