The first test flights were conducted on Saturday and Sunday, carrying passengers with a new six-seat AS350-B2 helicopter manufactured by French Eurocopter from Tan Son Nhat Airport to a helicopter deck at the Sea Links City Resort in about 45 minutes. According to Nguyen Van Thieu, vice chairman of Rang Dong Group, the helicopter service was designed to offer another option to travelers besides the current system of roads and railroads between the two cities. The company has not yet announced a specific fare for the service, Thieu said, explaining that Rang Dong has to calculate the total cost for the test flight.Thieu, however, revealed that the air fare would be no less than VND10 million for a round trip and that the real demand would decide the number of flights to be operated every week.
