France-Vietnam cultural exchange gets a boost

The French Cultural and Cooperation Department in Ho Chi Minh City will organize an art event on June 24 to boost cultural exchange between Vietnam and France.
“Esperantopolis, cultural venue of the francophone community” will feature exhibitions and music performances by French and Vietnamese artists, including installation artists Sandrine Llouquet and Hoang Duong Cam, painters Nadege David and Khoa Le, photographers Brice Coutagne and Phan Quang, and graffiti painters Julian Malland.
There will also be a book reading by Freddy Nadolny, screening of documentaries by Lucien Do, hip-hop dancing by Destiny Family, a fashion show, and a concert by the Xoviet and Jugridoos bands.
The Esperantopolis in the title belongs to the month-long program called ‘Esperantopolis rendezvous” – of which this exchange will be a part – that began in April.
It is being held to create chances for Vietnamese students to learn French and about French culture.
The art event will be held at 30 Pham Ngoc Thach Street from 6pm to 10pm. Admission will be free.
