Hanoi concert to feature award-winning musicians
Award-winning artists from the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra will perform works by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Schumann and others at a concert in the Vietnamese capital June 15.
Summer 2011 Gala Concert will feature pianist Nguyen The Vinh who won the Gold Prize at the 2010 Cheonan Competition in Korea, baritone Quoc Hung who won the Silver Cup at the 2000 Pyongyang Spring Art Festival in North Korea, pianist Do Hoang Linh Chi who won the First Prize, Category A, at the 2009 International Piano Competition in Indonesia, and baritone Phuc Tiep and soprano Duyen Huyen who won the Second Prize at the 2009Vietnam National Opera and Chamber Music Competition.
They will perform “Impromptu No. 1 Op. 29 in A flat major” by Chopin, “Hungarian Rhapsody No.11 in A moll” and “La Campanella” by Liszt, “Prelude No.2, Op.23” by Rachmaninoff, “Piano Quintet in Eb major, op.44” by Schumann, and “The magic flute” opera by Mozart.
Tickets to the concert at the Hanoi Opera House, 1 Trang Tien, cost from VND150,000 to 700,000.
