Vietnam Lindy dancing event opens in Mui Ne

The third Vietnam Lindy Exchange, an international dancing event and contest, are taking place at the Novela resort in Mui Ne tourism town in the central province of Binh Thuan from March 18-20.
This year’s sport event will feature spectacular dancing performances by more than 70 professional dancers hailing from many countries and territories worldwide.
It was introduced and developed by the Saigon Swing Cats club some years ago.
Lindy hop dances evolved in Harlem, New York City in the 1920s and '30s.
It moved off-shore in the 1930s and 40s particularly in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other nations.
Lindy was a fusion of many dances that preceded it or were popular during its development but is mainly based on jazz, tap, breakaway and Charleston. It is frequently described as a jazz dance and is a member of the swing dance family.
