Good leadership considered top factor by employees
Good leadership ranks first and good salaries rank last in a list of the four most important factors influencing people’s choice of employers, said a survey conducted by recruiting firm Navigos Search.
76 percent of the 4,800 senior-level employees from both Vietnamese and multi-national corporations surveyed said a good leadership team was the most important element their dream employers should have.
Next on the list were a good working environment (in both physical and spiritual terms) and support for employees’ training and development.
High salaries and bonuses only came fourth on the list.
The survey, titled Employer Branding, also shows that Vietnamese employees rely on the media, such as newspapers and the Internet, as the most important source of information in their search for companies to work for.
Less important channels are family, friends and current employees of the companies.
Contrary to common expectations, most Vietnamese no longer consider foreign companies superior to local ones in terms of leadership, working environment, development potential or salary.
Only 14.3 percent said they preferred multinational corporations to local ones.
