Thai Airways forced to change schedule

Thai Airways has announced a new summer schedule on the Ho Chi Minh City – Bangkok sector after its old morning time slot was no longer available for departure from the Vietnamese metro.

Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will leave at 11:15 am, or 55 minutes later than now.

They will take off at Bangkok an hour later at 10:15 am

Thai Airways’ director in Vietnam, Narinthorn Purnagupta, said the airlines asked Tan Son Nhat Airport authorities to keep the 10:20 am slot but it was available only on Friday and Sunday.

So on Fridays and Sundays the timings remain unchanged. The change in schedule reduces the transit time in Bangkok for flights to Europe and East Asia.

Thai Airways is one of the largest foreign carriers in Vietnam, currently operating four flights daily on the HCMC-Bangkok route.

It has announced it will replace its 299-seat Airbus A330-300s with 309-seat Boeing B777-220s from May 16.
