Italian flautist to play in Hanoi

The Italian flautist Andrea Griminelli will return to Hanoi for a concert Monday next week.

Griminelli last played to a Vietnamese audience in 2008.

He has been playing the flute since he was ten years old and was invited to play at Luciano Pavarotti’s concert in Madison Square Garden, New York when he was 25.

The flautist will perform with the Singaporean award-winning pianist Lim Yan, who has been playing the keyboard from the age of five.

The concert is organized by the Italian Embassy in Vietnam and will start at 8 p.m. at Hanoi Opera House. Tickets are VND200,000 (US$10.26) apiece and available at the theater (1 Trang Tien Street). Alternatively visit www.ticketvn.com, or email ticketvn@fpt.vn.

Griminelli has performed in America, Japan and many countries in Europe. During his tour of Asia this year, he will also perform in Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
