Vietnam's highest Buddhist tower opens in Hanoi

Bao An Tower in Hanoi
A tower nearly 55 meters high was pronounced Vietnam’s highest Buddhist tower when it was inaugurated in Hanoi on Monday.

The Bao An Tower, located in the Bang A Pagoda – Linh Tien Temple complex, was also recognized as the Buddhist tower with highest number of copper statues (108), including 104 of Siddhartha Gautama weighing between 100-300 kilograms each.

The 13-storied tower was built with VND17.5 billion (US$897,896) contributed by Buddhist followers from all over the country. Construction of the tower began in 2004.
