Love Fest canceled as river dries up in Dalat

The annual Love Fest in Dalat will be cancelled this year as the Pongour River is drying up. It is planed to take place in two days this year.
Since 2008, with the Pongour River being blocked upstream to operate Dai Ninh hydropower plant, less and less water is fed into the waterfall.
For the past few years, the fest organizers had to pump water from the river to maintain the appearance of the waterfall. This year, due to unaffordable high costs, the project was discontinued.
The first Love Fest took place by the signature Pongour River in Dalat in 2005 from March 30 to April 3. This is an event to honor love and enable couples to enjoy the romantic atmosphere in the flower city of Dalat.
