Nha Trang displays map made from coffee beans
An administrative map of Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) made from coffee beans was displayed at 2-4 Square in Nha Trang City in the central province of Khanh Hoa on Wednesday morning during the Sea Festival 2011.
The map, designed by artists from the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and made by 200 people, covers an area of 18 square meters and weighs 600 kilos.
The organizer, Me Trang Joint-Stock Company, said dried and whole-grain coffee beans had been carefully selected based on special standards for the map.
The map will be submitted for a national Guinness Record in the category of largest coffee bean maps and paintings made by the greatest number of people.
Le Xuan Than, deputy chairman of Khanh Hoa People Committee, said the Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography had suggested housing the map.
