Ryu Goto plays Paganini tonight in Hanoi
Japanese-American karatist and aspirant physicist Goto Ryu, who is also known as a prodigy violinist will perform Paganini at the Hanoi Opera House on Friday and Saturday.
Described as ‘fiery’ in his performances, Goto will perform Niccolo Paganini’s Concerto No 1 with three chapters, ‘The Italian in Algeria’ by Rossini” and ‘Mozart of Italy’ and ‘Antiche Danze ed Arie III’ by Respighi.
Accompanying him will be musicians from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.

The 23-year-old prodigy began playing at age 3 and has performed internationally as a soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the U.S. National Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Toscanini Symphonica in Italy, and others.
Goto is also an amateur karatist and a Harvard student majoring in physics.
He performed at the World Trade Center site during the official September 11 commemoration ceremony in 2003 and at the peace memorial concerts in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 2005.
Both his parents are violinists.
