2,500-year-old earring found in Binh Thuan
A Sa Huynh Culture earring dating back to the fifth century BC has been discovered in Ham Thuan Bac District in Phan Thiet City.
The earring, which has the shape of a wild animal’s head, is made of glass.
According to Nguyen Xuan Ly, director of Binh Thuan [province] Museum, Sa Huynh Culture artifacts are often found in central provinces such as Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and it is the first time such an artifact has been found in Binh Thuan.
Sa Huynh Culture, which dated from 1,000 BC to the end of the 2nd century, is one of the three cradles of civilization in Vietnam besides Oc Eo Culture in the south and Dong Son Culture in the north.
