American Idol runner-up to hit stage in Vietnam
David Archuleta, the runner-up in American Idol 2008, will perform alongside many Vietnamese artists in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this July.
The show, titled Idol Music Event 2011, also features Vietnam’s biggest stars, including Ho Ngoc Ha, Dam Vinh Hung, Ngo Thanh Van, and Vietnam Idol 2010 winner Uyen Linh and her runner-up Van Mai Huong.
Accompanied by his own 5-member band from America, David will sing more than 10 songs, all are either his best hits or selected from his recently released album “The Other side of Down.”
The album ranks 13th on American Billboard top 200.
David James Archuleta, 21, started singing when he was 6 and, after winning the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition at the age of 10, appeared in many singing contests and talent-finding TV reality shows such as Star Search.
He debuted his first single “Crush” in August 2008 after coming second in American Idol 2008 to David Cook, who performed in the Hennessy Artistry show in Hanoi last month.
Idol Music Event 2011 will take place in Hanoi on July 24 and in Ho Chi Minh on July 21.
Tickets cost from VND 100,000 in HCMC and VND 200,000 in Hanoi to VND 1 million for VIP seats.
