HCMC artists to perform in Manila to boost ties
A group of artists from Ho Chi Minh City will perform at a cultural show in Manila in the Philippines tonight to celebrate the 35-year diplomatic tie between the two countries.
To be held at Intercontinental Hotel, the show will feature traditional music, fashion shows and short video clips presenting the rich historical and cultural heritage of Vietnam.
Top models Vo Hoang Yen, Huong Giang, Anh Thu, and Phung Ngoc Yen, traditional musicians Tuyet Mai, Dinh Linh, and Anh Tan, singers Anh Bang and Ha Tram are among the local artists to hit the Manila stage.
The highlight of the event will be an ao dai fashion show designed by renowned fashion designer Si Hoang, whose works will be worn by models from both countries.
Vietnamese folk music on the dan bau (Vietnamese monochord), sao truc (small transverse flute), dan da (lithophone) or dan T’rung (Central Highland bamboo instrument) will also be featured.
An exhibition of Vietnamese and Philippine traditional costumes will also be organized at the resort Manila hotel and entertainment complex on July 13 as part of the visit.
