Two Vietnamese university students will fly to Germany on November 7 to learn about the latest methods to protect the environment.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Nguyen Tuan Cuong from the University of Foreign Trade, both in HCMC, were chosen from ten competition finalists last month.

The annual week-long trip is held in Leverkusen by the German Bayer Group as part of its Bayer Young Environmental Envoy (BYEE) program, organized with the United Nations Environment Program. Representatives from 19 other countries will also attend.

BYEE Vietnam was first held in 2006 in cooperation with the education ministry, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the HCMC Environmental Protection Agency.

Annually, it asks students aged 18 to 23 to suggest ideas and measures to tackle various environmental problems.
